My 25 year love affair with pottery began in Westchester New York and subsequently carried over to my marriage with my husband Bob. Pottery is an outlet for the creative artisan within me. My work draws inspiration from nature as I stretch clay to its limits by utilizing highly individualized advanced techniques to achieve distinctive form and textural affects. Pieces are finished using a variety of techniques for surface treatment including raku, oxidize, and high-fired glazing.
These techniques can produce dramatic effects and colors which can be both spectacular and subtle at the same time. Each finished work thus transcends its own limited utilitarian design to become a work of art in its own right.
Pamela’s pottery can be seen by appointment in the Gallery At Fairy Tale’s End and several other venues throughout New Jersey.
Pamela and Bob Beatty, Real Estate Team at the Clinton office of Weichert Realtors, love threir four collies; Wilson, Magic, Sunshine, star and their green-winged macaw Sweetheart.

When I work as a playwright or an actor - I want to entertain. I want people to laugh or identify and perhaps feel less alone. I care what they think.
But when I paint - I do it as a reaction to the sadness in the world. Or injustice… Or my own inner pain/conflicts. I paint to understand. To feel less alone. When words are not enough. When there is suffering and no relief in the world - I take to the canvas. I am not seeking to entertain. When I have a creative explosion - it is an act of self healing. And there is also Joy. And Gratitude. Sometimes the world is so beautiful - that the only way to express it is to make love to the canvas through color. I do not want to tell the viewer what to think or feel. If you like what you see or have any response to it - I am pleased. It is the one thing I do - where I feel completely free.
